Chinese court artisans practiced this remarkable and craft for more than a thousand years. Cloisonn Á means cell or partition. Beginning with a copper base, hand-designed copper strips are brazed into the base. Each section is then hand painted with enamel and then baked five separate times. Next, each piece is hand ground and polished. Many tedious hand processes are accomplished, and the end result is exquisitely beautiful and durable. Our Cloisonn Á wares are made in the same way today as in the mysterious Ming Dynasty!
